It's a new year with the same workaholic me. I decided way back in October what I was doing this year and comics are it! Way back during 24 Hour Comic day I started on Gardenia and have been steadily making pages.

Gardenia will be around 24-30 pages maybe more if needed. Black and white like manga but in the style I've grown into in the past 3 years. I've been through a lot of shit in the past few months that have inspired a continuation of Gardenia. Working title Corpse Dealer.(Think 1980's noir.)

Also got an idea for a romantic comedy indie movie too. haha yes I want to make movies too. Not sure if it will be live action or just animated. Speaking of romantic comedy take a look at my life everyday! Comic on the left is how my boyfriend and I usually cuddle. We've been together 3 years so leg shaving is well...optional. It's not a bad thing to be comfy in a relationship after all. You can get past the superficial and into what really makes each other happy. Like Round knees,leg stubble and goofy smiles.

When I get art/writer block I tend to doodle other characters from other stories I have and self portraits of daily things. 1)Mika 2)Lio from Ashes & Coffee Stains a daily life coming of age comic I'm still struggling with.

And 3) Me the day of my first hair cut in a year or so. I just dyed my hair back to normal too. It got to a point in my jobless life where I buckled and dyed my hair brown. It was a disaster of chemicals and frizz! What a mistake to dye my hair like a normal person. I had a system down with my neon hair dyes that my hair was always lovely. Now I am a mass of frizz and split ends what a drag. My hair is a big deal to the well being of my sanity. It's gotten to a point in my life where I vow to never dye my hair with chemical hair dyes ever again. You will never see my "natural" hair color so long as I shall live. With that I will never work retail or food ever again because it's a cheep insult to list any color but natural hair color in the hygiene rules of a job. DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH MAINTENANCE THIS HAIR TAKES? From every other week of hair cuts,touch ups and ever other day conditioning,hair oils and brushing and primping!! Sadly crappy jobs like that will never revise that rule along with tattoos and piercing. If they really must put me in my place,then my place is making art and entertainment. I still would love to be a barista comic maker. Yea,make coffe by day and comics by night!
